strategic brief development
We work across all sectors – housing, education, commercial and community and are experts at masterplanning for both urban and rural sites. We aim to create beautiful, successful and sustainable places that benefit society as a whole.
A well considered masterplan helps our clients develop their estate, covering issues of condition and function of existing buildings, while establishing the need for new buildings and informing expenditure planning.
We look to ensure that any existing buildings are utilised to their full potential. Surveys and utilisation analysis help us and our clients understand how to best use existing facilities.
The development of the brief also involves the investigation of the budgetary constraints and in this area we have our unique budget planner software to assist clients. In addition to this, and tied into our sustainable ethic, we try to minimise waste and program the project in the most efficient way possible.

concept development
During the concept development stage we aim to please the head and heart aspects of your project. We know that you are building your dream, but you also want to make sure that at no point does anything come down with a bump! We use sketches as well as 3D and computer visualisation models to get across the key features of a scheme. 3D printing can also be used where needed if a physical model is required.

visualisations
Unlike many companies we aim to provide all our skills ‘in house’ and to this end we provide clients with 3D models which are created by our own staff. If a visualisation model is required this method of working allows a swift turnaround and quick development of your project and allows you to be kept fully informed of all the spaces we are designing.

planning approval
Our success with planning applications, conservation area consents, listed building applications and applications in the national park areas is around 99%. We are able to have this level of success by carefully listening to all those involved in the design and approval process and modifying designs to suit everyone involved. We are passionate about what we are designing and by involving clients, planners and other parties who are also keen to get the very best result we have found a great deal of success at this stage.

technical drawings
The technical aspect of projects is an area dwell design have become particularly known for. We love the nuts and bolts of buildings and we want to make sure that they all fit together properly! Because our team are so passionate about their own projects they know that the success they have had with building is tied with their understanding of the construction process. This also means that they are keen and very happy to answer questions about how things will look and how your environment will fit together. Tied to the technical aspect is how a building goes up. We can even give you a huge ranges of options here. As an example would a modular building work best? Would you like your new working or living environment to turn up largely finished? We did with our new office!

site visits
Once the builder has been appointed and the work at site is underway we can maintain a presence to help out with anything that may arise as the work progresses. We can also help keep you as the client informed without the use of tech- speak and we know how to manage the unforeseen if this arises on your project. We are keen to make sure that the before, during and after aspects of work at site is taken care of. Were we are working on eco- projects we even record energy use data as part of our ongoing research into best practice.
